Gun fullback Jahream Bula (hamstring) is back after a five-game absence, meaning Sunia Turuva shifts to the wing, with Izaac Tu’itupou dropping out.
Forward Samuela Fainu is back after recovering from a knee injury, therefore Tony Sukkar goes back to the interchange.
Royce Hunt moves into the 17 on the interchange, with Jack Bird out of the squad.
Back in Round 18 against the Broncos, with skipper Stephen Crichton missing due to Origin, the Bulldogs opted to move Matt Burton into the centres, with Lachlan Galvin at five-eighth and Toby Sexton at halfback.
This time though, they have acted differently under a similar scenario. With fullback Connor Tracey likely to miss 3-4 weeks with an abdominal injury, they’ve instead shifted Jacob Kiraz from the wing to fullback, with Jethro Rinakama recalled on the wing.
The Bulldogs could have potentially moved Bronson Xerri to the wing, put Burton into the centres, and recalled Toby Sexton at halfback.
But it seems, with finals around the corner, the Bulldogs aren’t willing to tinker with their halves combination again, with Sexton remaining in the reserves.
Rinakama deserves his recall, after scoring the winning try against both the Cowboys in Round 19 and the Dragons in Round 20, which were his first two games in the NRL.
