Fears for Maroons hopeful as push for Origin return rocked by injury

Dragons forward Jaydn Su’A has left the field in the first half of their clash against the Knights with an ankle injury.

Su’A crossed for the first try of the game for the Dragons, and left the field soon after at the 23rd minute.

He was taken up the tunnel and assessed.

Su’A suffered the injury earlier in the game but tried to run it off.

“It is an ankle injury for (Su’A),” Fox League reporter Jake Duke said.

“He rolled inwards on it.”

Duke confirmed that Su’A wouldn’t return to the game at Jubilee Stadium.

“The bad news for (the Dragons), Jaydyn Sua, ankle injury, out of this game,” Duke added.

It’s a huge blow for Su’A, who would have been hopeful of an Origin recall for the Maroons for game two in Perth.

Su’A played the first two games of last year’s series for the Maroons, and coach Billy Slater will be looking to make changes after their disappointing defeat in game one.
