“Payne won’t play. It’s probably more to look after him really. He’s obviously had a fair bit going on over the last month with his back so we feel it’s the right thing to do at the moment,” Maguire said.
The Panthers will be without Liam Martin for multiple games after it was revealed the back rower injured his hand during Origin Game III.
According to Code Sports, Martin ruptured his radiolunate ligament and will miss Penrith’s next two games against the Eels and Rabbitohs.
